Sometimes it happens that someone is asking you to make a portrait of their so beloved horse, but when it has to be made in life size, for an artist, this is one of the greatest challenge you can be standing for.
The first request for such a portrait came from Dick Besseling of Bessewacht Arabians, who wanted to have a portrait of Ibn Estasha, founder of their Stud, as a gift for his wife, Francina Besseling. Dick Besseling gave Willem van Beelen the chance to prove that he could also realize a sculpture with the character and moves of this very special stallion.
At his moment another life size sculpture is on his way to the world. a portrait of the famous Navarrone-P. owned by Dion Arabians of Paul and Martine Despeghel , she is one of the most beautiful mares, there has been seen at the showgrounds, winning all over the world, awarded by the WAHO and the dam of double world champion Eternity Ibn Navarrone-D.
By the end of 2010 this sculpture will be finished and placed in the stud farm of Dion Arabians.
In Kuwait he has made for Mr. Usamah Alkazemi, a wall with two life size horses made in reliëf, with a wall painting of his hand for the background.
